Those who built our homes brick by brick, can you accept them into your
home? An elephant in Bangladesh is brought to Singapore to build houses for
the people. Thinking about the happiness of those who will live in the houses
he builds gives him such joy. He is useful, and he is proud of it.
The Colouring Book
If your child has a different way of seeing the world, can you accept that?
A little girl is taught what the "correct" colours to fill in a colouring book are.
"Little girl, you know it's true, The grass is green, the sky is blue"
rings from two adults constantly, reminding her of the "truth".
USE: The robot's tale
Those who slave away to lighten your workload, can you accept them
when they are old and worn out? The robot works his entire life with
no rest and no joy. He has to prove his worth as every year, new robot
models appear on the assembly line. That's why he has to work and work
and work, until the day people find out that robots can die as well.
Tuesday Afternoon
If your best friend makes a decision that horrifies you, can you
accept it for her sake? On a Tuesday afternoon, Zelda reveals to her
best friend Susan the horrible truth – that she has stage three
cervical cancer, and that she is pregnant. Radiotherapy would cost the
life of the baby. Zelda has to choose between keeping the baby or
saving her own life, and Susan has a part to play in her decision.
USE: The tissue paper
Those who take care of our children, can you accept them as family?
She is a maid who takes care of her employer's children and cleans the
house from dawn till dusk. She is like a packet of tissue paper and all she
wants is to be allowed to be "used" one more time before she's thrown away.
